Shabab Al Ahli Honored by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid for Historic 2024–2025 Season
DUBAI, 29th May, 2025 – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, welcomed Shabab Al Ahli football team at Zabeel Palace in celebration of their exceptional achievements during the 2024–2025 sports season. The Dubai-based club secured four prestigious titles, including their ninth UAE Pro League championship, the UAE President’s Cup for the 11th time, the UAE Super Cup, and the UAE-Qatar Super Cup.
Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the players, coaching staff, administrators, and board members on a season marked by excellence and dedication. Among the dignitaries present at the reception were H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai.
His Highness remarked, “The sports sector is essential to the UAE’s development strategy, contributing to human progress and strengthening the country’s position internationally.” He further emphasised that ongoing leadership support highlights the belief in sport as a means to cultivate role models, instill strong values, and nurture a generation that is confident and ambitious.
Sheikh Mohammed also reiterated the leadership’s commitment to providing support for Emirati athletes and sports clubs, aiming to elevate their global performance. He stressed that sports clubs must not only build technical prowess but also develop character and leadership among youth.
Addressing the team directly, His Highness praised their resilience, commitment, and unified approach throughout the season. “While reaching first place is a significant achievement, maintaining that position is the greater challenge,” he said. Sheikh Mohammed joined the players and staff for a commemorative photograph, extending his best wishes for their continued success in future tournaments and international contests.
Also present at the reception was Khalifa Saeed bin Sulaiman, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Shabab Al Ahli Club, who shared in the moment of recognition for one of the club’s most decorated seasons.
