Dubai is set to host the 20th Asia/Oceania Intergovernmental Ministerial Meeting on Anti-Doping in Sports tomorrow and the following day, organized by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports and under the patronage of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The meeting is expected to see wide participation from senior government officials and representatives of the World Anti-Doping Agency, together with delegates from various sports and anti-doping organisations across Asia and Oceania. The principal aim of the meeting is to enhance regional cooperation and facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices to safeguard sports integrity in the region.
Hosting this prominent regional event once again underscores the UAE’s leading role and its ongoing commitment to combating doping at both the local and international levels. Notably, the UAE previously hosted the 17th edition of the meeting in 2022, with 36 countries and 14 ministers in attendance, while the most recent, 19th edition, took place in Uzbekistan and saw participation from 38 countries and various sports organisations.
