AJP Tour UAE National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025 – GI Set to Begin in Abu Dhabi
The prestigious AJP Tour UAE National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025 – GI is set to commence tomorrow at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, drawing an impressive lineup of 1,455 male and female athletes from 86 academies across 77 countries. This year’s championship, organised by the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro (AJP) in collaboration with the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, highlights the growing global stature of jiu-jitsu in the UAE.
Spanning three days from 20th to 22nd June, the tournament is a significant fixture in the international jiu-jitsu sports calendar, offering athletes the opportunity to compete in various age categories and earn valuable ranking points towards the official AJP world rankings.
The championship will showcase an exciting roster of elite international athletes, including Brazil’s Bruno Borges, Jefferson Gouto, Gabriela Pereira, and Russia’s Anna Remeneva, alongside up-and-coming talents from around the world. The event will also serve as a crucial platform for the identification and development of promising athletes, particularly in the youth and junior divisions.
The event schedule is set to kick off on Friday with the Masters division for men and women. Saturday, 21st June, will see competitions among the Kids and Youth divisions, and the action-packed weekend will culminate on Sunday, 22nd June with the Amateurs and Professionals categories. Intense bouts and high-level performances are anticipated throughout.
Gold medalists at the tournament will be awarded 1,000 ranking points, potentially giving them a significant boost in the AJP world rankings and opening doors to major international competitions. The AJP affirmed that this championship remains an integral part of its globally recognised tournament series.
