Dubai is set to host the highly anticipated ‘World Sports Summit’ from 29–30 December 2025, following a directive by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence. The event is expected to be the largest global gathering for the sports sector, attracting leading sports stars, experts, and decision-makers from around the world.
“This summit will bring together top officials, coaches, specialists and current and former sports stars from around the world in Dubai to shape the future of the sports sector globally. Through this unique gathering in Dubai, we aim to harness new opportunities in the sector, while addressing current and future challenges, so that sport continues to play a vital role in bringing people together, inspiring generations, supporting the economy, developing talent, and becoming more enjoyable and beneficial for its fans and followers.” (H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum)
The summit is organised by the Dubai Sports Council and will be held at Madinat Jumeirah. Its comprehensive programme will include panel discussions, keynote speeches, workshops, and meetings. Representatives from a range of sporting bodies, teams, and federations will explore the future of the sports industry within economic, legislative, regulatory, and social frameworks.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasised the summit’s aim to discuss the future of team and individual sports, support national teams and sports clubs, and highlight the essential role of educational institutions and sports academies in talent development. The summit will pay special attention to strategies for preparing talents of all ages and sports disciplines.
Key topics on the agenda will include enhancing audience engagement, improving the economic viability of sporting events, and evaluating the latest technologies—especially the impact of artificial intelligence and data analytics—on the future of sports.
Dubai continues to strengthen its reputation as a premier year-round destination for major sporting events, with its robust organisational capacity, advanced infrastructure, and outstanding appeal to leading teams, clubs, and sports personalities.
