Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Highlights the Role of Women in Abu Dhabi Sports Sector
Abu Dhabi, 4th July 2025 – His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, welcomed a group of female employees from the Council in a recent reception. This initiative reflects the leadership’s appreciation of women and underscores their crucial role in driving development and enhancing Abu Dhabi’s status as a leading global sports destination.
During the gathering, Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan voiced his pride in the contributions and dedication of Emirati women, highlighting:
“the presence of highly qualified women in the sports sector is a testament to the UAE’s developmental maturity and the leadership’s vision of empowering women and enabling their creativity and active participation in nation-building.”
He continued by underlining the importance of women in the sports sector, stating:
“We take great pride in the professionalism and commitment demonstrated by the female workforce at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. Their efforts in planning, organising, and diligently following up on various events, programmes, and initiatives underscore the pivotal role women play in shaping success and driving positive impact within society.”
Sheikh Nahyan further stressed that sport is a fundamental pillar in the nation’s comprehensive development journey, with women playing a central part in turning this vision into reality through their active engagement and exceptional contributions.
He also commended the ongoing dedication and valuable contributions made by the Council’s female employees, recognising their efforts in advancing the Council’s vision and strategic objectives.
In response, the female employees expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Nahyan for his unwavering support and encouragement. They acknowledged his steadfast commitment to fostering a motivating work environment that continues to enhance women’s roles and opens up new avenues for excellence.
