DCT Abu Dhabi Extends Partnership to Host UAE Warriors; Events in Al Ain
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has announced an extension of its collaborative partnership with the UAE Warriors Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion, aiming to further boost the emirate’s position as a regional hub for combat sports. The renewed agreement will see the continuation of hosting UAE Warriors series events not only in Abu Dhabi but also in Al Ain for the first time.
Now entering its sixth year, the partnership underscores Abu Dhabi’s commitment to developing the sports tourism sector, nurturing local talent, and attracting top-tier international fighters and audiences to the UAE. In 2023 alone, the UAE Warriors attracted over 120 athletes from across the globe and welcomed thousands of fans, reflecting the growing interest in MMA in the region.
For the first time, the series will hold special events at the Al Ain Convention Center, expanding the reach of MMA beyond the capital city. This strategic move is expected to drive greater community engagement in Al Ain and provide new opportunities to foster grassroots combat sports development.
Saleh Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, said: “Abu Dhabi is growing in prominence as a global sports hub through the continuous expansion of our network of international and regional partnerships, resulting in an array of top-tier sporting events being hosted in the emirate. This extension of our partnership with Palms Sports marks a new chapter for UAE Warriors, bringing an exciting programme of mixed martial arts to Al Ain Region for the first time. New audiences will discover Al Ain Region’s unique destination offering and its potential as a home for future sporting events. We look forward to welcoming fans and athletes to experience the thrill of UAE Warriors in this beautiful area of Abu Dhabi.”
With an established reputation for professional organization and high standards, the UAE Warriors series will continue to attract elite fighters and generate increased international attention. The events deliver economic benefits and support Abu Dhabi’s vision of being a premier destination for world-class sports.
As the extended partnership brings UAE Warriors to new audiences in Al Ain and cements Abu Dhabi’s place on the global MMA map, local fans and aspiring athletes are set to enjoy more opportunities to get involved in the sport and witness top-level competition on home soil.
