FIGUERES, Spain, 28th August, 2025 — UAE Team Emirates-XRG showcased their strength in the stage 5 Team Time Trial at the Vuelta a España, seizing victory with a commanding performance. The Emirati squad outpaced second-placed Visma-Lease a Bike by eight seconds in Figueres, clinching the stage win and propelling both João Almeida and Juan Ayuso up the general classification standings.
Averaging just under 57kph over the 24.1km course, UAE Team Emirates-XRG completed the challenge in 25 minutes and 26 seconds. This remarkable display marks the team’s 74th win of their 2025 campaign, further reinforcing their dominance this season.
With this victory, team members Juan Ayuso, João Almeida, and Marc Soler surged into second, third, and fourth position, respectively, in the overall standings. The results leave UAE Team Emirates a mere eight seconds behind current race leader Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark, setting the stage for a thrilling contest as the Vuelta a España progresses.
