UAE Olympic Football Team Qualifies for AFC U-23 Asian Cup Finals
The UAE Olympic football team has secured a spot in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup finals, set to be held in Saudi Arabia next year. Despite a 3-2 loss to Iran at Al Nahyan Stadium in the third round of the Asian qualifiers for Group 9, the UAE’s performance has earned them progression to the tournament.
The Iranian team completed the group stage with a perfect record, accumulating a total of 9 points to top the group. The UAE finished in second place with 6 points, which is sufficient to qualify as one of the top four second-place teams.
According to the tournament structure, the first-place teams from all 11 groups, as well as the four best second-place teams, will participate in the finals, joining the host nation, Saudi Arabia.
