HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Heads Bahrain’s Delegation at Arab Football Assembly
The Bahrain Football Association (BFA) took part in the 28th General Assembly of the Union of Arab Football Associations, held recently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event gathered key representatives from across the Arab football community to shape the future direction of the sport in the region.
Leading the Bahraini delegation was His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BFA. His participation underscores Bahrain’s continued commitment to regional football development and collaboration.
A key highlight of the assembly was the election of the President and members of the Board of Directors for the 2025–2029 term. This process plays a critical role in defining the leadership structure and governance of football within the Arab world. In addition, nominations were held for posts within the judicial bodies and various auxiliary committees, reinforcing organizational transparency and strengthening institutional frameworks.
Another major agenda item was the introduction of the competition calendar for Arab football between 2026 and 2029. The comprehensive schedule includes fixtures for both national teams and Arab clubs, ensuring clear timelines for upcoming sporting events and fostering greater preparation and coordination across member associations.
The assembly served as a platform to reaffirm unity and strategy among Arab footballing nations, enhancing shared efforts to elevate the standard and global presence of football in the region.
