CLYMB Yas Island is set to ignite Abu Dhabi’s climbing community as it hosts its inaugural “The SUMMYT Showdown” Climbing Competition on 21st September. This much-anticipated event, held at CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi—home to the region’s tallest indoor climbing wall—marks a significant milestone for the emirate’s climbing scene, serving as a prelude to an even larger national championship planned for November. As the first event of its kind in the UAE, the competition spotlights top-rope climbing and will put participants to the test with 30 technical routes during the qualifiers on CLYMB Abu Dhabi’s impressive 22-meter Advance Wall. Only the top five male and female climbers will proceed to an intense final round, featuring two all-new routes crafted for the venue’s iconic 20-meter Summit Wall. This final stage is designed to push competitors’ endurance and climbing skill, ultimately crowning the champions of the day. The SUMMYT Showdown Climbing Competition aims to be a spectacular showcase of Abu Dhabi’s rising enthusiasm for climbing as a sport. Climber registration is now open; with spots at a premium, interested athletes are encouraged to secure their participation early to immerse themselves in this transformative event. Meanwhile, spectators are welcomed to experience the thrill of competition up close, cheering on climbers vying for glory on some of the most challenging indoor walls in the region. Team V.4-EM-UAE
