Title: DP World ILT20 and Saudi Cricket Federation Forge Landmark Cricket Alliance The DP World International League T20 (ILT20) has sealed a groundbreaking alliance with the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) in a move that promises to reshape the future of cricket in the Gulf region. Announced in Dubai, this partnership marks a major step toward developing the sport in Saudi Arabia, aligning tightly with the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030 initiative. Under the landmark agreement, the SACF has officially licensed the DP World ILT20 as a recognized Twenty20 league for both men and women, paving the way for ILT20 matches to be staged in Saudi Arabia and creating structured development pathways for aspiring Saudi cricketers. The collaboration will bring the league closer to its Saudi counterparts by working in conjunction with the SACF’s commercial arm, the Cricket Investment Company. Notably, as part of this initiative, each franchise participating in the ILT20 Season 4 Player Auction—to be held on October 1—will be required to include at least one Saudi player in its squad. This move is expected to significantly elevate the presence and competitiveness of Saudi talent on the global stage. “We are very proud to announce our partnership with the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation. Saudi Arabia is a key part of the Gulf region, and its commitment to developing cricket is inspiring,” said Khalid Al-Zarooni, Chairman of the ILT20. “This partnership is built on our shared vision of growing the game beyond borders. The DP World ILT20 will create opportunities for players and hopefully bring world-class cricket closer to the fans.” Prince Saud bin Mishal Al-Saud, Chairman of the SACF, echoed similar optimism: “This collaboration reflects our commitment to developing cricket in the country and providing our players with opportunities to grow and succeed on an international stage.” “It also provides a platform for fan engagement and opens further avenues for developing the game across infrastructure and tourism.” Describing the new alliance as a “significant step,” ILT20 CEO David White said: “With Saudi Arabia’s dynamic growth in sport and entertainment, this partnership provides a tremendous opportunity for Saudi cricketers to develop.” He added, “In the coming years we will be hosting DP World ILT20 tournament matches in Saudi Arabia. From next year, a development tournament will also be staged there, which will provide an excellent opportunity to the local talent to make a claim for the main event. The league will also help Saudi Arabia in cricketing infrastructure development.” The forthcoming Season 4 of the DP World ILT20 is set to commence on December 2, featuring six teams competing across 34 matches. The tournament will conclude with a finale on January 4, 2026, reflecting the league’s growing stature and strategic expansion across the Middle East. As both Saudi Arabia and the ILT20 push forward, the partnership is expected to serve as a blueprint for cricket development in emerging markets, uniting sports, commerce, and community under one bold vision.
