Abu Dhabi to Host 24th Zayed Charity Run, Celebrating Unity, Health, and Philanthropy Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, the 24th Zayed Charity Run is set to take place in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, 29 November 2025. Recognised globally as the kindest run in the world, this annual event continues to honour the life and enduring values of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose legacy encompasses generosity, compassion, and the drive to unite people for the greater good. This year’s run will commence at Wahat Al Karama and conclude at ERTH Hotel Abu Dhabi, both of which will be transformed into vibrant community villages. Attendees can look forward to a family-friendly atmosphere complete with food and beverage kiosks, entertainment, and various activities for all ages. Promoting inclusivity and unity, the event welcomes participants in the 3km, 5km, and 10km runs, ensuring everyone—from children to seasoned athletes—can take part. The proceeds from the 2025 edition will support three cutting-edge research programmes at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre (ADSCC): Advancing personalised cancer therapy through tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) Developing a Bioinformatics and AI platform for precision medicine targeting multiple sclerosis and type 1 diabetes The Perinatal Project, which transforms donated placental tissue into innovative treatments for skin care and wound healing. Lt Gen (Rtd) Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi stated, “The Zayed Charity Run is more than a sporting event, it is a profound tribute to the timeless values of our Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace. It embodies his enduring legacy of generosity, compassion, and humanity.” He further highlighted the significance of the event in the Year of Community 2025, noting that it brings together people of all nationalities, cultures, and backgrounds in a powerful celebration of health, solidarity, and giving. Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, emphasised the vital role of the UAE’s leadership in supporting the event: “The run stands as a symbol of civilisation that embodies the vision and values of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace. It reflects his legacy of giving and humanitarian work, an eternal heritage that continues to inspire generations.” He further reaffirmed the Organising Committee’s commitment to directing event proceeds to medical and charitable institutions, enhancing patient care and supporting those in need.
