Sorour Makes Kuwait Proud with Silver at World Para Athletics Championships
Kuwaiti Paralympic athlete Faisal Sorour has delivered a moment of pride for his nation by clinching the silver medal in the F42 shot put event at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi. His exceptional performance marked a historic achievement as he set a new personal and Asian record with a throw of 16.28 meters.
In recognition of the feat, Kuwait’s ambassador to India, Mishal Mustafa Al-Shemali, extended his congratulations, stating, “Sorour’s outstanding performance reflects his determination to represent Kuwait with pride on the global stage”.
Nasser Al-Ajmi, Head of the Kuwaiti Delegation and Chairman of the Kuwaiti Paralympic Athletics Committee, praised the achievement and credited it to the persistent effort and cohesion of both Sorour and the supporting technical and administrative staff. He commented, “We dedicate this achievement to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and to the proud people of Kuwait.”
Al-Ajmi also acknowledged the invaluable support provided during the championship, adding, “Our heartfelt thanks go to Ambassador Al-Shemali and the Kuwaiti Embassy staff in New Delhi for their unwavering assistance and encouragement throughout our journey.”
