Kuwait Claims Gold and Silver at the Arab Squash Championship
Kuwait celebrated a significant triumph at the 30th Arab Squash ChampionshipLebanon, where national star Ammar Al-Tamimi captured the men’s singles gold following a dramatic 3–2 victory over fellow Kuwaiti Bader Al-Maghribi in an all-Kuwait final. The intense five-game encounter showcased the high level of squash talent emerging from the Gulf nation.
With this outcome, Kuwait secured both gold and silver medals in the premier singles event, while Iraq’s Mohammed Farman and Qatar’s Azlan Amjad shared the bronze, highlighting a competitive field at the prestigious regional tournament.
The team competition began just days earlier, and Kuwait has continued its dominant run. The national squad opened with a commanding 3–0 win against Bahrain, fueled by standout performances from Ali Al-Ramzi, Bader Al-Maghribi, and Abdullah Hani. This was followed by another 3–0 sweep against hosts Lebanon, solidifying Kuwait’s position as a tournament favorite.
Action picks up today as Kuwait faces off against Qatar in the morning before turning their attention to a decisive title showdown with Iraq in the evening. The Iraqi squad, eager to etch their name in championship history, will be pressing hard for their first-ever Arab Championship title. Meanwhile, Kuwait is determined to extend their dominance by adding team gold to their tournament haul.
Kuwait’s team roster features a blend of experience and youth, including Ammar Al-Tamimi, Ali Al-Ramzi, Bader Al-Maghribi, Abdullah Hani, Abdulrahman Al-Maghribi, and Jassim Al-Gharib.
