World-class women’s tennis will make an exciting return to the UAE capital as the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, presented by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, confirms the dates for its fourth edition, scheduled from 31st January to 7th February 2026 at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City.
Following a record-breaking 2025 event that featured eight of the world’s top 20 players and attracted thousands of fans during eight days of thrilling action, the upcoming tournament promises an even greater spectacle. The event will once again showcase Abu Dhabi as a leading global destination for elite sport.
With a draw featuring 28 singles players and 16 top doubles teams, the 2026 edition aims to build on the momentum of the previous season. The 2025 tournament saw Olympic gold medalist and the inaugural champion Belinda Bencic deliver a remarkable comeback, securing her second Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open title by defeating the rising star Ashlyn Krueger in the final. In doubles, Jelena Ostapenko and Ellen Perez captured the crown, highlighting the depth of talent on display.
Hosted in partnership with Mubadala and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, this WTA 500 event is a key stop on the Hologic WTA Tour. The tournament offers a unique blend of world-class sport and entertainment, spanning eight days—from intense opening qualifiers to the thrilling finals on Saturday, 7th February.
“For more than 15 years, Mubadala has been proud to champion tennis and bring world-class sporting experiences to the UAE,” said Homaid Al Shimmari. “As a global investor, we are committed to creating long-term value not only in the industries we invest in but also in the communities we serve. Aref Hamad Al Awani said, “This championship has become a highlight of Abu Dhabi’s global sporting calendar, reinforcing the capital’s reputation as an international hub for elite sport. Each year, we continue to build on this success, and we are excited to welcome players, fans and families back to Zayed Sports City for another spectacular edition.”
