Bahrain Tennis Federation Wins ITF and ATF Awards
The Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) has received top honors from two leading tennis organisations—the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and **the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF)**—recognising its outstanding efforts in player development and tournament organisation.
The BTF was awarded the ITF Award for Best Federation in Player Development and Tournament Hosting and Organisation, alongside the ATF Award for Best Federation in Player Development and Tournament Hosting and Organisation in West Asia. These prestigious accolades reflect the federation’s commitment to enhancing the sport both domestically and regionally.
The awards were presented to Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the BTF, by Bulat Utemuratov, Vice President of the ITF, and Yuriy Polsky, President of the ATF, during a special ceremony held on the sidelines of the ATF Annual General Meeting in Kazakhstan.
“This recognition reflects the progress of Bahraini tennis and the international recognition of the federation’s efforts to promote the sport,” said Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa. He attributed the achievement to the steadfast support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
The BTF has established a strong reputation for successfully hosting major international tournaments while implementing robust programmes focused on local talent development, ensuring that Bahraini players can compete at both regional and global levels. The awards serve as a milestone in the Federation’s strategic vision to further elevate the profile of tennis in Bahrain.
