Diamond League 2026 Calendar Confirmed: Global Stars to Shine from Doha to Brussels
The much-anticipated calendar for the 2026 season of the prestigious Wanda Diamond League has been confirmed, with the series set to launch in Doha on May 8 and conclude with a marquee two-day final in Brussels on September 4-5.
Marking the 17th season of athletics’ premier one-day global series, the Diamond League will once again gather the world’s finest track and field athletes for a continent-spanning quest to lift the iconic Diamond Trophy. Following a record-breaking 2025 season, the 2026 edition promises even more high-stakes action across four continents and 13 countries.
Athletes will accumulate points across 14 meetings, each critical in the journey toward the Brussels finale. The Road to the Final begins in Asia, with Doha as the initial battleground, followed by competitions in Shanghai and Xiamen. The African leg makes a single but impactful stop in Rabat on May 31, before Europe takes the reins with a June 4 meet in Rome.
From Stockholm to Oslo and Paris, Europe hosts several of the summer’s most iconic events, leading to the electrifying Eugene meeting on July 4. This Oregon event has become a hotbed for historic performances, having seen five world records in the last three years alone.
July continues with action-packed competitions in Monaco and London, setting the stage for the final European run. The decisive pre-final lineup includes stops in Lausanne (August 21), Silesia (August 23), and Zurich (August 27).
One of the most international and widely viewed events in world sport, the 2025 Diamond League drew over 400,000 spectators, reached fans in over 170 TV markets, and captivated a digital audience of more than five million followers. With over one billion digital impressions and 900 million video views, the sport’s online and broadcast presence has never been stronger. All signs point to 2026 shattering these milestones.
Among the standout names returning to the global stage is Sweden’s pole vault superstar Mondo Duplantis, who will attempt to snag a sixth consecutive Diamond League title, building on his latest world record of 6.30m.
On the track, US sprinting icon Noah Lyles has already solidified his status as the greatest Diamond League sprinter in history with six titles. In 2026, he will aim for a record-equaling or record-breaking seventh Diamond Trophy.
Emerging talents will also be under the spotlight. New world champions like Melissa Jefferson-Wooden (USA) and Jamaica’s Oblique Seville are expected to battle for supremacy, as the Diamond Trophy becomes the most coveted international title of the year, with no Olympic Games or World Championships scheduled.
