ABU DHABI, 13th November, 2025 — The Executive Office of the Asian Camel Racing Federation has taken significant steps to strengthen and expand the sport across the continent. In a landmark decision, Emirati Madiya Al Hashmi was appointed as Secretary-General of the federation for a four-year term that runs through May 2029. Alongside this, the camel racing federations of India, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan were approved as new members, pending final ratification by the General Assembly.
These decisions were finalized during the federation’s first Executive Office meeting, which was conducted via video conference and chaired by Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi, President of the Asian Camel Racing Federation. The meeting gathered executive members and representatives from member states for collaborative discussions.
During the session, participants reviewed comprehensive reports on the first Asian Camel Racing Championship held in Abu Dhabi in May, the upcoming camel racing event scheduled at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain 2025, as well as outcomes from the recent Asian Camel Riders Camp hosted in Abu Dhabi, featuring participants from nine countries.
Approval was granted for the establishment of the federation’s working committees, execution of the Grand Prize Project for the Asian Camel Racing League, and the rollout of the 2025–2026 sports calendar. This upcoming calendar highlights several major Asian events hosted by the UAE. Executive members stressed the importance of intensifying collaboration among member federations and working towards the continued development of camel racing throughout Asia.
Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President and President of the UAE Camel Racing Federation, for his “continuous support” of the Asian federation and its development programs. He also commended the UAE’s wise leadership for its commitment to preserving and promoting the traditional sport of camel racing, both locally and internationally.
