Gabriel Sousa Triumphs at ADXC 11 in Al Ain, Showcasing Jiu-Jitsu’s Global Excellence
AL AIN, 15 November 2025 – The Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship 11 (ADXC 11) wrapped up in spectacular fashion at the ADNEC Centre in the Al Ain Region, bringing together a stellar lineup of the world’s top jiu-jitsu and grappling athletes. The main event witnessed a commanding performance by Gabriel Sousa, who secured victory over fellow Brazilian Ruan Alvarenga in the lightweight division with a controlled display, culminating in a rear-naked choke submission.
Elsewhere during the evening, Daniel Barbosa delivered another highlight, defeating Haibula Aviev in a standout showcase bout. The event, organised by International Vision Sports Management in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, featured a packed card with ten bouts contested within the championship’s trademark octagonal cage.
The championship’s growing status was reflected in an electric atmosphere and strong turnout, attended by dignitaries including Saleh Mohammed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, and Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director of Destination Management at the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, who joined to present awards to the winners.
Tareq Al Bahri, Deputy General Manager of International Vision Investment, remarked:

Main event winner Sousa expressed his elation, stating:
“I am very happy with this victory and achieving an important milestone in my sporting journey on this global platform.

In the co-main event of the grappling category, American athlete Helena Crevar recorded her second win inside the ADXC cage, defeating Finland’s Salla Simola by submission.
“I am proud to secure my second submission win at Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship. I focused in the first two rounds on attacking her legs, but she defended strongly, so I kept trying until I broke through her defence and secured the submission.” (Helena Crevar)
On the main card, the crowd was treated to high-stakes clashes, including Seilkhan Bolatbek defeating Kenzo Biyong via unanimous decision in grappling. The preliminary card saw Brazilian Arthur Souza overcome compatriot Breno Pittizer, while Emirati Ammar Al Hosani bested Kazakhstan’s Dabyl Abdulla in a jiu-jitsu showdown. Other notable winners included Joao Arthur, Felipe Fernandes, Obaid Al Ketbi, and Raimundo Almeida, each delivering strong performances and underlining Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a global hub for elite combat sports.
