Masters Historic Racing Makes Sensational Debut at 2025 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
For the first time in its history, Masters Historic Racing will take center stage as an official support race at the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend. This momentous addition brings a spectacular grid of iconic 3-litre era Formula One cars to the season finale programme, delivering an unmissable slice of motorsport heritage to the world-famous event.
As part of the Race Weekend schedule, fans will have the rare opportunity to watch these historic machines roar back into competitive action on the majestic stage of Yas Marina Circuit. The Masters Racing Legends grid, featuring legendary cars from the 1966–1985 period, promises a vibrant celebration of motorsport legacy across two exhilarating races.
Spectators can expect an awe-inspiring display from ground-effect pioneers, DFV-powered classics, and some of the most innovative designs that shaped the golden age of Formula One engineering. The event is set to evoke memories of F1’s glorious past, giving new generations a unique window into the craft and courage that defined past eras.
This year’s grid boasts an impressive lineup of internationally recognized driving talent, including former Formula 1 Grand Prix winner Thierry Boutsen, Le Mans podium finisher Jann Mardenborough, French F1 commentator-turned-racer Julien Febreau, ELMS champion Oliver James Webb, and 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship GTE Am champion Stuart Hall.
Throughout the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, competitors will participate in Free Practice and Qualifying sessions before battling it out in two races under the iconic Yas Marina lights.
