The remainder of the PSL 10 matches may be shifted outside the subcontinent, with Dubai and Doha emerging as the frontrunners for hosting the remaining fixtures.
This decision is being considered due to ongoing diplomatic tensions between neighboring countries, which have posed uncertainties around hosting the rest of the tournament within Pakistan.
As a backup plan, Karachi is being considered to step in as a local solution if hosting abroad proves unfeasible. The remaining games were originally scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore.
A final decision on the venue shift is expected to be made soon.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is presently in the midst of key discussions with PSL franchise owners to finalize new arrangements. Several high-level meetings are underway to examine all viable options.
For Rawalpindi, insiders suggest that a range of scheduling solutions are being reviewed for the four remaining matches that were initially set to be held there.
Meanwhile, there is increasing speculation surrounding a possible rescheduling of today’s match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi. However, no official confirmation has been provided yet.
The ongoing 10th edition of PSL is approaching its final phase, with four league-stage matches and four playoff games remaining in the schedule.
Quetta Gladiators have become the first team to qualify for the playoffs. They top the points table with six wins, two losses, and one no-result from nine matches.
Karachi Kings are in second place with five wins and three losses in eight games, accumulating 10 points. Defending champions Islamabad United sit in third with the same number of points, having won five and lost four of their nine games.
Lahore Qalandars currently hold fourth position with four wins and four losses, totaling nine points. Peshawar Zalmi are in fifth spot with eight points from four victories.
Multan Sultans have been eliminated from playoff contention, managing just one win and suffering eight defeats in nine matches.
