UAE Ends Minifootball World Cup Campaign with Commanding Victory Over Argentina
BAKU, 26th May, 2025 (WAM) — The UAE national team concluded its journey in the first round of the Minifootball World Cup on a high note, securing a 4-1 win against Argentina in their final Group G match. The emphatic performance earned the team 3 well-deserved points, providing a strong morale boost despite falling short of qualification for the knockout stages.
The UAE had earlier faced stiff competition in Group G, suffering defeats against the Czech Republic (2-9) and Georgia (0-2), with both of those teams advancing to the Round of 16. However, the team’s decisive win over Argentina showcased their resilience and potential on the global minifootball stage.
The 2025 Minifootball World Cup is being hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan, from May 21 to June 1. The tournament brings together 32 national teams, competing under the auspices of the World Minifootball Federation (WMF).
