Qatar Sports Investments Celebrates 14 Years of Transformational Ownership of Paris Saint-Germain
Monday, 30 June 2025 – Doha – In what has become a defining era for European football, Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) today marks the 14th anniversary of its acquisition of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) by celebrating the Club’s greatest sporting achievement yet — its historic triumph in the 2025 UEFA Champions League.
On Saturday, May 31st, PSG secured its first-ever UEFA Champions League title with a commanding 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in Munich. The victory crowned a stunning 2024–2025 season, in which the Parisian giants collected a record-breaking four major trophies:
- The Trophée des Champions (1-0 vs AS Monaco on January 5th at Stadium 974 in Doha)
- Ligue 1, won by a remarkable 19-point margin
- The Coupe de France, with a 3-0 victory over Stade de Reims on May 24th at the Stade de France
- The UEFA Champions League, capturing the most coveted title in European football
With these accolades, PSG has cemented its place among the elite clubs of world football, completing one of the most successful campaigns in its history.
Since QSI’s investment in 2011, PSG has lifted 37 trophies — an unparalleled feat in modern European football. Over the past 14 years, QSI has overseen PSG’s transformation from a domestic contender into a global sporting powerhouse, building strength across men’s, women’s, and youth divisions, and turning the Club into a powerful cultural and commercial icon.
Key milestones of the PSG journey under QSI’s ownership include:
- A growth in annual revenues to €806 million, placing PSG within the Top 3 global football clubs financially — up from just €101 million in 2011
- A cumulative €3 billion contribution to French public finances since 2011
- A state-of-the-art training center in Poissy, representing a €350 million investment — with a strong emphasis on developing homegrown Parisian talent
- The expansion of the PSG brand globally, with 191 academies established across 21 countries
- A surge to 228 million social media followers, from just 600,000 in 2011
The Club’s ascent has not only been confined to France and Europe. PSG has recently advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States, after a convincing 4-0 victory over Inter Miami on Sunday, 29 June.
QSI’s ownership has marked a broader ambition — using sport to connect cultures, inspire generations, and elevate Paris Saint-Germain into an institution of global influence.
