Abu Dhabi Formula 2 Powerboat Team Prepares for Third Round of UIM F2 World Championship in San Nazzaro
San Nazzaro, Italy, 27th August 2025 – The Abu Dhabi Formula 2 Powerboat Team has departed for the third round of the prestigious UIM F2 World Championship, which will take place in San Nazzaro, Italy, from 29th to 31st August. This eagerly anticipated event will feature an elite lineup of international drivers competing on one of the circuit’s most challenging courses.
The championship event will officially commence on Friday, beginning with technical scrutineering. Qualifying time trials will follow on Saturday, while the main and final race is scheduled for Sunday, promising high-octane competition and world-class racing talent.
Representing the Abu Dhabi team in this pivotal round is Rashed Al Qemzi, a five-time world champion, together with Salem Al Yafei, who is making his debut in the F2 category. Al Yafei’s progression from Formula 4 to F2 underscores the team’s ongoing commitment to talent development and its vision of advancing athletes to the upper echelons of global competition.
The Abu Dhabi delegation includes several important members: team manager Nasser Al Dhaheri; drivers Rashed Al Qemzi and Salem Al Yafei; and Juma Al Qubaisi, who will serve as radio man for Al Qemzi during this round.
Both of the team’s boats, Abu Dhabi 1 and Abu Dhabi 36, are currently undergoing full maintenance and upgrade programs. Enhancements are being made to optimize both performance and speed, tailored specifically to meet the demands of the challenging San Nazzaro circuit. The team is also conducting practice sessions to fully adapt to the unique course conditions ahead of the competition.
With a blend of seasoned champions and emerging talent, the Abu Dhabi Formula 2 Powerboat Team enters this round strongly positioned and ready to pursue victory on the international stage.
