DAAM Signs Funding Agreement with Sports Ministry to Support ‘Samla Race 2025’
The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) has signed a significant funding agreement with the Ministry of Sports and Youth to support the highly anticipated seventh edition of the ‘Samla Race 2025’, scheduled to take place from November 27 to 29.
Under the framework of this agreement, DAAM will provide essential financial backing for the event, including prize allocations exceeding QR3 million for participants. The move reinforces DAAM’s role as a catalyst in advancing sports activities in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and further solidifies its cooperation with other major entities listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).
The Samla Race 2025 distinguishes itself as a unique and grueling 200-kilometer race that tests participants across five challenging disciplines: swimming, running, mountain biking, kayaking, and shooting. The synergy of these events not only embodies the spirit of endurance but also sets a benchmark for multi-sport competitions in the Middle East.
“Events of this kind play a vital role in raising awareness about the importance of sports within the community and in developing exceptional athletes. This edition of the race is expected to bring strong competition and record participation. I wish all participants every success.” — Abdulrahman bin Abdul Latif Al Manaei, Chief Executive Officer of DAAM
For his part, Azzam Al Manaei, President of the Qatar Challenge Racing Club (Samla) and CEO of the Samla Race Organizing Committee, expressed his enthusiasm for the event’s evolution and its role in the regional sports landscape.
“This event serves as a platform to foster the spirit of competition, athletic exchange, and passion for adventure sports. Year after year, participation continues to grow, and the Samla Race has become one of the most thrilling and demanding competitions in the region, requiring exceptional physical and mental endurance to complete all stages and reach the finish line.” — Azzam Al Manaei
Since its foundation in 2010, DAAM has launched multiple impactful initiatives spanning social, sports, and cultural sectors. Backed by contributions from shareholding companies listed on the QSE, the Fund plays a vital role in fostering sustainable community development through strategic partnerships and long-term commitments to national growth pillars.
The renewed support for Samla Race 2025 not only reflects DAAM’s unwavering dedication to strengthening Qatar’s sporting spirit but also highlights its continuing investment in platforms that encourage community participation, personal excellence, and a healthy lifestyle.
