Construction Progress on Sports Boulevard in Riyadh Reaches 44% Completion Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – The ambitious Sports Boulevard project in Riyadh has hit a critical milestone, with construction work now 44% complete. This progress marks a key development in the vision to transform Riyadh into a global destination for sports, wellbeing, and urban lifestyle. Spanning over 135 kilometers, the Sports Boulevard will run across the city, connecting the Wadi Hanifah in the west with the Wadi Al Sulai in the east. The project is a flagship under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among citizens and residents by providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities. Among its standout features are dedicated tracks designed for cyclists, joggers, and equestrians, along with a central urban park and more than 4.4 million square meters of green spaces. The Sports Boulevard Foundation highlighted that major works have already begun on seven main zones within the project. These zones are set to offer a diverse range of recreational and sports facilities such as stadiums, community parks, and specialized tracks. Once finished, the site will enhance Riyadh’s aesthetic appeal while providing venues for both amateur and professional athletes. Additionally, the project’s massive scale is expected to stimulate the local economy and support the private sector by creating new job opportunities and encouraging investment in hospitality, retail, and leisure sectors around the boulevard. The Sports Boulevard Foundation stated: “The project underscores our commitment to creating world-class urban experiences that foster an active, healthier society in line with Vision 2030 goals.” With nearly half of the construction completed, the project remains on track for its targeted completion date, paving the way for Riyadh to further establish itself as a vibrant metropolitan hub.
