Kuwait to Host XCAT World Powerboat Championship Round in November
In a major development for the marine sports world, Kuwait has been officially selected to host the second and penultimate round of the 2025 XCAT World Powerboat Championship, scheduled to take place from November 20 to 22. The announcement comes following the official approval by the International Powerboat Federation (UIM).
The event will be organized by the Kuwait Sea Sports Club in collaboration with the Public Authority for Sport, showcasing the country’s growing prominence as a hub for high-profile water sports events. The agreement to host the round in Kuwait was signed during the recent UIM General Assembly in China, where it was also confirmed that the championship’s final round will be held in Dubai on December 12.
The signing ceremony was attended by several influential figures in the powerboating community, including UIM Secretary-General Thomas Kurth, UIM President Raffaele Chiulli, XCAT Championship Director Sebastiano Pelle, Kuwait Sea Sports Club Secretary-General Khaled Al-Foudari, Powerboat and Wakeboard Committee Chairman Ali Al-Shammari, and Fujairah Marine Sports Club Executive Director Ahmed Al-Balushi.
Khaled Al-Foudari called Kuwait’s selection “a significant international achievement for the country’s marine sports sector,” noting the nation’s strong track record in organizing world-class championships and races.
Ali Al-Shammari thanked the international federation for its confidence in Kuwait, stating that the decision “reflects the nation’s prominent global reputation and its commitment to advancing marine sports.”
The upcoming round in Kuwait is expected to draw global attention and top-tier competitors from across the world, further cementing the country’s position on the international marine sports map.
