Tommy Fleetwood Clinches DP World India Championship 2025 Title in Thrilling Finish
NW DELHI, 19th October, 2025 – Tommy Fleetwood, the Paris 2024 Olympic silver medallist from Great Britain, triumphed at the DP World India Championship 2025 held at the iconic Delhi Golf Club. The tournament concluded with a dramatic finale on Sunday, as Fleetwood overcame a two-shot deficit to seize victory.
Heading into the final day, Fleetwood trailed the overnight leader, Keita Nakajima of Japan, by two strokes. Demonstrating his trademark composure and skill, the 34-year-old Englishman delivered a scintillating seven under par round, bringing his total to an impressive 22-under by the tournament’s end. This remarkable comeback secured the top spot on the leaderboard.
This victory marks Fleetwood’s eighth win on the DP World Tour—previously known as the European Tour—and his first since claiming the title at the Dubai Invitational in 2024.
The championship, hosted from October 16 to 19, stood out as the most lucrative golf tournament ever held in India, reflecting the growing stature of the sport in the region. The event represented the eighth of nine contests composing the high-stakes ‘Back 9’ phase of the 2025 Race to Dubai. This series leads directly into the prestigious DP World Tour Play-Offs and culminates in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in November.
This contest also marked the DP World Tour’s first visit to the Delhi Golf Club since 2016. The historic venue has previously played host to the Tour’s first-ever Indian event, the Indian Masters, in 2008, as well as the Indian Open in 2015 and 2016.
Tommy Fleetwood’s thrilling finish and memorable comeback highlight the growing appeal and competitiveness of international golf in India.
