Al Falahi Becomes First Omani Coach to Join World Tennis Coaches Conference

Mohammed al Falahi, assistant coach of the Oman national tennis teams, is making history as the first Omani coach to participate in the prestigious World Tennis Coaches Conference, currently being held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, from October 28 to November 2. The renowned event gathers an elite selection of leading coaches, experts, and international federations from across the globe.

Recognized as one of the most significant technical events in the international tennis calendar, the conference offers cutting-edge insights into the latest scientific approaches to physical and mental training, alongside player skill development strategies for all levels, from youth to professional athletes.

Al Falahi’s involvement marks a notable milestone for the Sultanate. It highlights the efforts of the Oman Tennis Association (OTA) to enhance its national coaching standards and integrate international best practices into its programs. The OTA sees this participation as a move toward knowledge exchange, with the long-term goal of improving Oman’s athletic performance and competition readiness at the regional and global stages.

The nomination aligns with the OTA’s wider strategic plan to upgrade the capabilities of national technical staff. By promoting attendance at international sports forums, the association aims to introduce coaches to the latest trends in training methodologies, technical innovations, and psychological preparation techniques—essential for staying abreast with the sport’s dynamic evolution.

Widely viewed as one of Oman’s most promising young coaching talents, Al Falahi has gathered invaluable experience mentoring under foreign head coaches and training players across various age categories. His contributions have translated into significant performance improvements for athletes, several of whom have gone on to compete in major regional and Gulf tournaments, further bolstering his reputation in the national tennis scene.

“My participation in the World Tennis Coaches Conference is a unique and valuable opportunity to learn about the latest internationally recognised training methodologies and to exchange experiences with top coaches from different continents. I am truly proud to be the first Omani coach to represent my country in this global event, and I feel a great responsibility to transfer the knowledge and insights I gain to my colleagues in the national teams and local clubs. I sincerely thank the Oman Tennis Association for its trust and continuous support for national coaches, and for its commitment to investing in local talent to elevate the level of tennis in the Sultanate of Oman,” said Mohammed al Falahi in a statement.

He further noted the breadth of subject matter addressed in the event, stating that workshops would examine strategic training planning, talent management, modern performance technologies, nutrition, and mental preparation. He stressed the importance of these domains to the growth of Oman’s tennis ecosystem and reiterated his dedication to gaining maximum benefit from the conference activities curated by the International Tennis Federation.

Al Falahi’s inclusion in the conference is not only a personal achievement, but a powerful testament to Oman’s growing presence in international sports development, and a symbol of what investment in local talent can achieve.
