Berengriff United from the UAE secured a place in the semifinals of the Asian Minifootball Clubs Championship in Jakarta with a commanding 4–1 victory over Jakarta Rangers during the quarterfinal knockout stage.
Despite conceding the opening goal, Berengriff United delivered an impressive comeback, netting four goals through Ibrahim Adam, Mehdi Omri, Basem Al-Najjar, and Mohammed Ismail. The team displayed notable confidence, composure, and a remarkable fighting spirit.
In the upcoming semifinals, Berengriff United will face Iran’s Setarijan Simakan. Meanwhile, the second semifinal will feature Lebanon’s Al-Ata’a against Indonesia’s Barber United.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority team is also aiming for a positive result in their match for 9th–10th place against Japan’s IPG.
Sarmad Al-Zadjali, Executive Director of the Minifootball Committee, emphasized the significance of the UAE team’s determination in their first appearance, stating that this achievement will play a big role in developing the sport in the UAE—especially as the nation prepares to host the first Arab Championship in 2026.
