Sharjah, 27th December 2025 – Malav Shroff, President of the Asian Sailing Federation, attended the third day of competitions in the Asian Youth Modern Sailing Cup on Saturday, 27 December 2025. The prestigious event, which began last Wednesday and continues through 30 December, is taking place at the Al Hamriyah International Sailing Centre.
Organised by the Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club in cooperation with the UAE Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation, the championship has gathered young sailing talents from across Asia. On his arrival, Malav Shroff was welcomed by Humaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Club’s Board of Directors, along with Mohammed Abdullah Harib, Vice President of the UAE Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation, and Mohammed Al Obaidli, Secretary General of the Federation.
Malav Shroff expressed his appreciation for the event, specifically praising the Al Hamriyah Club’s efforts and its outstanding organisation of the Asian Cup, highlighting the club’s creation of an “ideal competitive environment to develop young Asian talents in the sport of sailing.”
Mohammed Abdullah Harib emphasised the significant role played by the UAE in general, and Al Hamriyah Club in particular, in hosting such a notable continental event. He pointed out that these efforts reinforce the country’s leading position in marine sports and contribute substantially to elevating the technical level of the national team players.
The ongoing championship not only showcases youth sporting talent but also underlines the UAE’s continued commitment to fostering excellence and growth in the realm of international sailing.
