The spirit of sport and community came alive in Doha as Aspire Zone wrapped up its 11th Ramadan Sports Festival, celebrating athletic excellence during the holy month. This year’s festival saw thrilling tennis finals that crowned champions in multiple categories, drawing attention to the growing passion for racquet sports across the Gulf region.
In the Men’s Masters Singles, Mohammed Jao delivered a commanding performance, defeating Yassine Harris with a resounding 6-0, 4-0 victory to claim the title. The Men’s Professional Singles final brought nail-biting action, with Ahmed Al Shami triumphing over Alexey Smirno 6-4, 7-5. Mykhailo Roshkovski took home the bronze medal after a strong run in the competition.
On the women’s side, Venezuela’s Zoraida Motola emerged as a standout star. She swept Poland’s Hanna Albovich 6-1, 6-0 to clinch the Women’s Singles crown. Meanwhile, Sarah Ben Aziza secured third place with a confident 9-2 win over Jaya Haddad.
The award ceremonies were attended by prominent sporting figures, including officials from the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel & Badminton Federation and Aspire Zone Foundation. Beyond tennis, the festival also featured the closing match of the Employee Football Tournament, where Los Galacticos captured the championship with an exciting 5-2 win over Rahab.
