LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday that it is considering shifting the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to either Dubai or Doha.
Any final decision regarding moving the tournament abroad will be made following consultations with relevant stakeholders.
Initially, the PCB had decided to move the remaining PSL matches to Karachi due to the rising tensions between Pakistan and India.
According to the tournament schedule, teams were originally slated to move to Rawalpindi for the next phase of the league at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. However, the venue was changed after India carried out drone attacks in multiple Pakistani cities, including Lahore, Gujranwala, and Rawalpindi, amid increased military aggression.
A particular incident saw an Indian drone being shot down near the Rawalpindi stadium, raising serious security concerns.
Earlier, there had been speculation about the possible cancellation of the 10th edition of the PSL, but those rumors were quashed when the PCB confirmed that the league would continue as planned.
The announcement came following a high-level meeting led by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, attended by officials from security agencies and other departments.
