Special Olympics UAE launches Summer Camp for Athletes with Disabilities
ABU DHABI, 8th July, 2025 — The Special Olympics UAE has announced the launch of the Special Olympics UAE Summer Camp, set to begin on 14th July in collaboration with Jam Sports Academy. The camp is organised with the support of Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled, Sharjah Sports Council, Ajman Club for the Disabled, and the Ajman Government’s summer programme.
Running until mid-August, the initiative is designed to provide a supportive, educational, and active sporting environment for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the summer season.
The camp features a comprehensive programme of sporting, educational, and recreational activities. These activities are tailored to the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ensuring a safe and stimulating setting that fosters skill development and personal growth.
Participants will engage in a diverse range of sports, including basketball, badminton, football, table tennis, and the innovative Fit-5 fitness programme. All activities aim to promote physical health, teamwork, and self-confidence among the athletes.
By offering these diverse experiences, Special Olympics UAE continues its commitment to promoting inclusion and empowerment for people with disabilities, ensuring they have opportunities to thrive both on and off the playing field.
