Zhoushan, China – The United Arab Emirates secured two medals at the 2025 Asian Rowing Beach Sprint Finals, held in the Chinese city of Zhoushan from 11 to 14 September. The national team earned a silver and a bronze as they competed among the continent’s best rowing talent.
The duo of Shamsa Al Sheryani and Fatima Khalaf delivered a remarkable performance to claim the silver medal in the Girls’ Double Under-19 category. In the Elite Men’s Double event, Hamad Al Matroushi and Khamis Ghanem powered through the competition to secure the bronze medal for the UAE.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation, congratulated the national team delegation on their achievement. He affirmed that it reflects the distinguished status that Emirati rowing has attained on the Asian sporting stage.
