Al Ain is set to become the focus of the badminton world as the Al Ain Masters 2025 takes place from 30 September to 5 October. The prestigious Super 100 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour event will feature nearly 300 players from 38 countries, including representation from five Arab nations. This marks an essential stop on the international badminton circuit. The event is headlined by renowned talent such as former World No.1 Kidambi Srikanth, who will lead India’s contingent in the men’s singles. Other standout contenders include Justin Hoh of Malaysia, known for his dynamic play, and Indonesia’s Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo, both eager to claim victory on this prominent stage. In the women’s singles, the competition promises to be intense, highlighted by rising Indian star Anmol Kharb. Polina Buhrova of Ukraine, a US Open bronze medallist, arrives with strong form, while Indonesia’s Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari, fresh from her triumph at the Luxembourg Open 2025, is also tipped as a favourite. The tournament will also feature a strong line-up in the doubles categories, with former World No.1s and several medal-winning pairs across men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles. Noura Al Jasmi, President of the UAE Badminton Federation, called the event a “landmark moment for badminton in the UAE,” highlighting its potential to inspire youth and position the region as a growing hub for international badminton.
