Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup Begins Third Edition in Australia, Highlighting the Enduring Legacy of Purebred Arabians
The third edition of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup (EAHGC) commenced in Australia, with competitions launching at Willinga Park in the Bawley Point area of New South Wales. This prestigious event brought together a collection of horses from renowned owners across the country, signaling a remarkable new milestone and underlining the cup’s ever-expanding global presence, artistic and cultural significance, and the esteemed reputation enjoyed by purebred Arabian horses.
Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Fahad Obaid Al Taffaq, Ambassador of the UAE to Australia, who personally crowned the winners. The event also welcomed Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director General of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), in addition to numerous owners, breeders, and enthusiasts. Their presence highlighted the event’s international partnerships and reiterated the strong institutional commitment to the Arabian horse heritage.
Competition Results
- In the Yearling Fillies category, Simeon Siferet (Simeon Stud) clinched the gold, with Marie MI (for Greg, Julie, and Jane Farrell) taking silver, and Zarahemla Lady Dominique (Peter Robert Hornby) earning bronze.
- The Junior Fillies Championship saw Vittoria MI (Greg, Julie, and Jane Farrell) awarded gold, leading over Muneera Al Hasan (Kay Edward) for silver, and Nitaka FF (Kate and Doyle Dertell) securing bronze.
- Baroque MI (Greg, Julie, and Jane Farrell) dominated the Yearling Colts championship, followed by Senator FF (Candice) with silver, and Athol Hill True Passion (Nichelle Bishop) for bronze.
- Simeon Shivah guaranteed a gold for Simeon Stud in the Senior Mares category, with Saffire MI (Greg, Julie, and Jane Farrell) collecting silver, and Javalia FF (Kate and Doyle Dertell) earning bronze.
- In the Junior Colt championship, Kelaray Ulysses triumphed with gold for Kelly Mason, Raymond Milich, and Kim Wilkinson, with Requiem RBS (Nikki Frisby) obtaining silver, and DA Dominico (Nicole Maree and William Damien Henricus) rounding out the podium with bronze.
- Finally, Ubiquitous AAJ secured the gold for Alicia and Christopher Rosewall in a competitive category, beating Echos Of Tomorrow (Robyn Rogers) with silver, and Zarahemla Maverick (Peter Robert Hornby) with bronze.
Strengthening International Standing
The resounding success of the Australian leg highlighted the advanced organizational standards, robust participation, and increasing enthusiasm for the EAHGC in Australia. The event evidenced a diverse representation of breeders and owners and further consolidated the cup’s role as a global platform that celebrates the beauty and authenticity of the Arabian horse.
Set in Willinga Park, a premium venue along the coast of Bawley Point, the event leveraged the facility’s world-class equestrian amenities, luxurious accommodations, and comprehensive visitor and hospitality services. The inclusion of a state-of-the-art equine hospital ensured round-the-clock care and personalized rehabilitation programs under expert supervision.
During the second edition of the Cup, a notable 791 horses representing 460 owners participated, with total prizes reaching AED3.986 million. Of these, 488 horses and 342 owners were crowned as winners, attesting to the Cup’s rising international stature and the UAE’s commitment to advancing and globalizing Arabian horse championships.
The ongoing third edition of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup draws upon the achievements of previous editions, featuring legs across different continents as part of an ambitious strategy aimed at reaching a wider network of Arabian horse owners and breeders worldwide.
