Dubai Premier Padel P1 Sets UAE Record with 7,000-Seat Indoor Centre Court

Following its successful launch in 2024, the Dubai Premier Padel P1 returns from November 9 to 16 with an upgraded venue and a larger capacity to welcome fans and world-class competitors. This year’s edition will take place at the iconic Hamdan Sports Complex, which is now home to the largest indoor padel court in the country.

After attracting over 24,000 spectators during its debut, the tournament moves from the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, which seats 5,000, to the expansive Hamdan Sports Complex—a venue that can accommodate up to 15,000 attendees. Spanning 24 hectares, the Complex stands as the largest indoor sports venue in the Middle East and among the largest globally.

The new centre court alone can welcome over 7,000 fans, offering a climate-controlled, accessible experience. Additionally, centre court ticket holders gain free access to all other courts throughout the tournament.

Early bird tickets are now available on Platinumlist.com, with general admission prices starting at just AED 36.

Reflecting its growing status, the tournament’s prize pool has been increased from AED 1.96 million to AED 1.98 million. The draw will feature 240 elite players, including current women’s world No. 1 pair Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria, and men’s top duo Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia.

Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Association (UAEPA), stated: “The launch of Dubai Premier Padel P1 in 2024 was a historic moment. As the sport’s popularity continues to rise, we at UAEPA are proud to support the return of the country’s biggest padel tournament.”

Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, added: “The return of Dubai Premier Padel P1 highlights the sport’s increasing importance both regionally and globally. We’re excited to see even larger crowds enjoying the electric atmosphere at Hamdan Sports Complex.”

This year marks the first time a padel tournament will be held at the Hamdan Sports Complex, which has previously hosted events in basketball, swimming, volleyball, badminton, tennis, and water polo.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), commented: “Events like Dubai Premier Padel P1 are instrumental in supporting the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). Relocating to a world-class facility significantly enhances the fan and athlete experience.”

Ivan Modia, Tournament Director and CEO of Gallop Global, echoed this sentiment: “Padel is a global movement. With the continued backing of our partners and UAE leadership, we look forward to delivering yet another landmark edition—now in the largest padel court ever built in the country.”

Founded in 2014, the UAE Padel Association (UAEPA) is one of the first federations of its kind in Asia. That same year, padel was officially recognised by the General Authority of Sports, confirming its status as an official sport with full government support.

By 2016, UAEPA had joined the International Padel Federation (FIP). Today, the UAE is home to approximately 1,000 padel courts, representing 30% of all courts in Asia and 2% of those worldwide.

In addition to top-tier on-court action, spectators can look forward to a variety of off-court activities across the week-long championship.
