Unstoppable Kuwait Club Extends Reign with 10th Basketball Super Cup
Kuwait Club has reaffirmed its unrivaled dominance in domestic basketball after seizing its 10th Basketball Super Cup title with a commanding 122–99 victory over long-time rivals Qadsia. The high-octane final took place at the Basketball Federation Hall inside the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Complex, further underscoring Kuwait Club’s firm grip on local basketball supremacy.
Meanwhile, Qurain claimed third place in the competition after narrowly defeating Kazma by a single point (93–92), setting the tone for a spirited tournament under a revamped format.
This year’s edition broke from tradition by allowing the top four teams from last season’s league standings to compete, replacing the prior arrangement that limited participation to only the league and cup champions.
With this triumph — its 10th Super Cup title in just 11 editions (the only exception being Kazma’s win in 2022) and their third consecutive victory in the tournament — Kuwait Club has set a new benchmark in consistency and performance. The victory comes hot on the heels of the team’s resounding success in the Arab Championship held in Dubai, showing no signs of fatigue or complacency.
From the opening buzzer, Kuwait Club displayed complete control and tactical superiority. A dominant 24–3 start set the tone for the match, and the team closed the first quarter leading 34–14. The advantage widened further with Kuwait Club cruising into halftime with a stunning 70–37 lead. Despite Qadsia’s efforts, the margin increased to 99–78 by the end of the third quarter. The final frame saw no let-up from Kuwait Club, who maintained a vice-like grip on proceedings, keeping Qadsia at bay and sealing a decisive win.
In the aftermath of the victory, Bader Al-Asaimi, Kuwait Club’s Basketball Director and Vice President, applauded the players for their “mental sharpness”, especially given the common post-success slump that follows major international achievements. He highlighted the team’s ability to retain focus despite their recent continental title, saying the performance “shows the depth and hunger of the squad.”
He further disclosed that Club President Khaled Al-Ghanem had promised generous financial rewards to the players in appreciation of their Super Cup victory — a gesture meant to reinforce the club’s commitment to excellence and reward its top performers.
With this emphatic win, Kuwait Club does not just defend a title — it deepens its legacy as a force in regional basketball, bridging local and continental glory with remarkable consistency.
