UAE Para Cycling Team Shines at Asian Track Championships with Eight Medals
The UAE National Para Cycling Team continued its outstanding performance at the ongoing Asian Track Championships in Tagaytay, Philippines, securing four new medals—two gold, one silver, and one bronze—on the third day of competition. This impressive haul raises the team’s total to eight medals: three gold, three silver, and two bronze.
Leading the medal charge was Abdullah Salem Al Balushi, who clinched two gold medals. He dominated the C4 10 km scratch race, finishing ahead of Indonesia’s Muhammad Fadli Imamuddin and Uzbekistan’s Abror Ibragimov, who secured second and third place respectively. Al Balushi then added another gold to his tally with a standout performance in the C4 sprint race, once again outpacing Uzbekistan’s Abror Ibragimov, who took the silver medal in that event.
With these achievements, Al Balushi now boasts a total of three gold medals and one silver, establishing himself as one of the championship’s top athletes.
Salama Al Khateri contributed further to the UAE’s success, winning silver in the C5 scratch race and bronze in the individual sprint in the same category. These results bring her personal tally to four medals: two silver and two bronze.
Dhiban Salem Al Muhairi, the Secretary-General of the National Paralympic Committee, praised the athletes’ performance, stating that these positive results came with the support of the UAE’s wise leadership. He highlighted the continuous efforts, competitive spirit, and the team’s ability to compete with Asia’s leading athletes and raise the UAE flag at important continental events.
