Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro National Championship in Korea Concludes with Strong Global Participation
The Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro National Championship held in the Republic of Korea wrapped up on Sunday, showcasing wide participation from countries around the world. Athletes competed across various weight classes, belt divisions, and age categories, including kids, juveniles, youth, and adults (both men and women).
The event, hosted at the Bucheon Songnae Sports Centre Hall in Seoul, was marked by a high technical level and intense matchups among participants. In total, 56 medals were awarded to top finishers, comprising 26 gold, 21 silver, and nine bronze medals. The championship’s competitive atmosphere highlighted the growth of jiu-jitsu in Asia and the increasing global interest in the sport.
Korea led the overall standings, securing 13 gold, 13 silver, and 9 bronze medals, reinforcing its strong presence in jiu-jitsu and benefiting from hosting the championship in terms of local talent development. Mongolia finished second with nine gold, three silver, and seven bronze medals, while Peru clinched third place with one gold and one silver medal.
Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro Festival in Moscow also came to a close on Sunday, attracting over 1,000 male and female athletes from various age groups. This festival maintained a high technical standard, and an impressive 680 medals were awarded, including 251 gold, 238 silver, and 191 bronze medals.
Additionally, the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro Festival in Luanda concluded on the same day, featuring hundreds of athletes from several countries, including Angola, Lebanon, Argentina, South Africa, and Brazil. There, 236 medals—104 gold, 84 silver, and 48 bronze—were distributed among the winners.
These events are part of Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro’s ongoing efforts to expand the global presence of the sport and advance its strategic plans across continents.
Tariq Al Bahri, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro, emphasized the success and impact of the recent tournaments: “The Korea championship witnessed strong participation and high technical levels, reflecting the continued success of Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro events worldwide and their role in expanding the sport and providing professional platforms for athletes of different nationalities.”
He also highlighted the organization’s global reach, stating that Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro now holds events in over 150 countries, with more than 250 tournaments annually, positioning it as the largest organiser of jiu-jitsu competitions worldwide.
