Dubai All Geared Up for Asia’s Top Club Competition
Dubai, the vibrant sporting hub of the Middle East, is set to host the continent’s premier basketball event — the Basketball Champions League Asia (BCL Asia) 2025 — from June 7 to 13. Officially confirmed by the FIBA Regional Office-Asia on Saturday, May 31, the tournament promises to bring elite-level excitement to fans across the region.
The stakes are high as nine top clubs across Asia compete for a single coveted spot in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2025, set for Singapore. This tournament serves not only as a competitive arena for national champions but also as a crucial gateway to FIBA’s most prestigious club competition.
The action tips off with the Group Phase, taking place from June 7 to 9 at the historic Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Sports Hall. Teams have been split into three groups of three, with each day of the Group Phase featuring triple-header matchups. The format ensures that fans will be treated to full days of high-intensity basketball.
Following the Group Phase, the top eight teams will move forward to the Quarter-Finals, slated for June 11. Unique to BCL Asia, Quarter-Final pairings will be determined through a draw held immediately after the last Group Phase game, creating an added layer of suspense and unpredictability.
Victors in the Quarter-Finals will meet in the Semi-Finals on June 12, with hopes of booking their place in the Final. The campaign culminates on June 13 at the state-of-the-art Coca-Cola Arena, where the two strongest clubs will clash for the title and continental glory.
Simultaneously, the Third-Place Game will also be played, giving the remaining Semi-Finalists one last opportunity to step onto the podium.
All eyes will be on the BCL Asia 2025 champion, who will carry the honor of representing Asia at the FIBA Intercontinental Cup — a global stage where continental champions meet in a battle for worldwide supremacy.
With world-class infrastructure, a rich sporting culture, and a commitment to excellence, Dubai is once again demonstrating why it is a premier destination for international sports.
