Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup: Fifth Leg Concludes Successfully in Warsaw
The second edition of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup (EAHGC) achieved another milestone as its fifth leg concluded in the Polish capital, Warsaw. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan—Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the **Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS)**—the event reflected the vibrant legacy and ongoing enthusiasm for the Arabian horse.
The closing ceremony was graced by dignitaries including Mohammed Ahmed Salem Al Harbi, UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Poland, and H.E. Mohammed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director-General of the EAHS and Vice Chairman of the EAHGC Committee, who presented awards to the winners.
This Warsaw leg marked the first European round of this year’s Cup. The competition will continue in Belgium later this month and in Italy in November. The Warsaw event was hosted at the prestigious Janów Podlaski Stud, one of the world’s leading and oldest centers for Arabian horse breeding.
Over two days, some 63 horses owned by 33 owners competed in a series of qualifying and championship rounds. The categories included yearling colts and fillies, two- and three-year-old colts and fillies, as well as senior mare and stallion divisions.
Highlights of the Poland Leg:
- In the Yearling Colts category, Elamir Sahir, owned by Lukasz Czech, secured the gold medal.
- The Colts (2–3 years) gold was awarded to Phoenix Al Miro, owned by Miroslav Krzysztof Roguski.
- Evening Star, belonging to Horses Poland Spółka, was honored as Champion Stallion.
- For the fillies, Nadzieja SW (owned by Sławko Czech – Nina Suskiewiczová) took gold among Yearling Fillies.
- PSYCHE ROKSANA (owner: Krzysztof Bożybieczkiński) achieved top honors in the Fillies (2–3 years) category.
- ANAWERA, also owned by Sławko Czech – Nina Suskiewiczová, became the Champion Mare.
The significance of hosting this leg at Janów Podlaski Stud lies in Poland’s celebrated tradition of Arabian horse breeding, with roots stretching over six centuries. Founded in 1817, the Stud is renowned for its setting on the lush banks of the Bug River and its role as a custodian of equestrian heritage.
The EAHGC’s second edition features 10 legs spanning several continents, after the first edition elevated the global status of Arabian horses and celebrated their beauty and prestige. The initiative seeks to support and encourage owners and breeders worldwide, emphasizing the UAE’s role in preserving authentic Arab cultural legacy and equestrian traditions.
This year’s tournament began in Australia, followed by legs in Bahrain, Morocco, and Qingdao, China, before arriving in Poland. As the Cup continues across Europe and beyond, it continues to unify the international Arabian horse community in celebration and competition.
