Rodríguez Seals Move to Saudi Arabia After Bahia Stint
Uruguayan forward Luciano “Lucho” Rodríguez is set to depart from Brazil’s Bahia and join Neom SC in Saudi Arabia, a club that has recently ascended to the country’s top football division. Rodríguez is expected to travel next week to undergo his medical examination prior to completing a transfer reported to be worth approximately €20 million.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the striker will be officially unveiled in the coming days as Neom SC’s latest signing. The Saudi club has shown a clear intention to strengthen its roster with proven and promising talent ahead of a demanding debut season in the Saudi Pro League.
Rodríguez exits Bahia following a notably encouraging campaign. He joined the Brazilian side in July 2024 from Liverpool de Montevideo in an €11 million transfer. Over the course of the 2025 season, he featured in 40 matches, including 22 starts, and netted 7 goals, demonstrating consistent growth and attacking potential.
At just 21 years old, Rodríguez’s move to Saudi Arabia marks both a personal milestone and a strategic initiative by Neom SC to establish itself quickly in the highly competitive landscape of Saudi football.
