Qatar’s Chuot, Ibrahim Fall Short at Athletics Worlds Qatar’s Ibrahim Abass M Chuot delivered a commendable effort in the men’s 800m heats during the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo yesterday. Competing in Heat 1, Chuot finished in fourth place with a time of 1:45.16, falling just short of qualifying for the semi-finals, as only the top three runners from each heat progressed. Earlier in the event, fellow Qatari athlete Ammar Ibrahim participated in the men’s 400 metres. He concluded his run in the semi-final round, placing fourth with a respectable time of 44.74 seconds, which unfortunately was not enough to reach the final. Despite the individual setbacks, hopes remain high for the national team as Ibrahim turns his attention to the men’s 4×400 metres relay. The relay heats are scheduled for September 20, followed by the final on September 21. Qatar is regarded as a strong contender in the event, with expectations of securing a podium finish.
