Abu Dhabi is set to host the 11th Grand Slam of the International Judo Federation (IJF), marking a key event on the road to the 2028 Olympics. The prestigious tournament, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region, will bring top judo athletes from around the world to compete at the Mubadala Arena from November 27 to 30, 2025.
The organising committee has confirmed the approval of 14 weight categories. The lightweight divisions include under 48kg, 52kg, and 57kg for women, and under 60kg and 66kg for men. The “light middleweight” categories will feature under 63kg and 70kg for women, and 73kg and 81kg for men. The heavyweight competitions include under and over 78kg for women, as well as under and over 90kg, and under and over 100kg for men.
