Dubai Basketball Club made history on 16th October, 2025 by defeating Spain’s Barcelona, overcoming the two-time EuroLeague champions with a score of 83-78 in a thrilling encounter at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. The match was part of the fifth round of the EuroLeague Basketball Championship.
This event marked the first-ever meeting between the two teams and was also Dubai’s debut appearance in Europe’s most prestigious basketball competition. Barcelona, regarded as a powerhouse of European basketball, has previously secured the EuroLeague title in 2003 and 2010, and reached the final nine times.
Dubai’s players showcased a commanding and cohesive performance, particularly shining during the third and fourth quarters. After a closely contested first half, the team sealed the victory in the final minutes with the backing of a passionate home crowd.
